Samuel Stein writes about the politics of urban planning in New York City, with an emphasis on housing, real estate, labor and gentrification. His work has been published in The Baffler, The Guardian, Jacobin , Jewish Currents, N+1, The New York Review of Architecture , The Village Voice and many other magazines and journals, and has been reviewed in The New Yorker, Los Angeles Review of Books, Architectural Review , and more. In 2019, Verso published his book, Capital City: Gentrification and the Real Estate State .
